Objective: To provide immediate relief to flood-affected individuals in Tingkhong Constituency, Dibrugarh.
Description:
In response to the devastating floods affecting Assam this year, particularly impacting the river-bedded areas of Dibrugarh, the Aichengfa Social Forum (ASF) organized a series of flood relief camps. Despite being a new organization with no government grants or funding, ASF demonstrated exceptional dedication by reaching out to the flood-affected communities.
Activities Conducted
Relief Distribution Locations:-
1. Disang Dhanpur MV School (Shalmari Gaon Panchayat)
2. Balioni LP School (Shalmari Gaon Panchayat)
3. Rajgarh T.E. LP School (Rajgarh Gaon Panchayat)
Relief Materials Distributed: Essential items provided included hand washing and dish washing soaps, detergent, candles, matchboxes, biscuits, bags, umbrellas, and Nutrella packets.
Beneficiaries: The relief drive reached approximately 400 flood victims across the specified locations in Tingkhong Constituency.
Conclusion:
ASF’s relief camp played a crucial role in providing immediate support to those affected by the floods. The organized distribution at key locations ensured that essential aid was delivered effectively, mitigating some of the immediate challenges faced by the flood victims. This initiative underscores ASF’s commitment to community service and its ability to mobilize resources for effective disaster response.
